Google took over Blogger a while ago and it has really improved. It was great before but the introduction of a whole new design and templates makes this application one of the best. You can create quite respectable-looking web sites with this without having any special knowledge and students seem to like using it a lot. One of the best things, apart from getting an on-line presence for yourself and your material, is the RSS feed that comes with a blog like this. That can be used to incorporate your blog content in other web spaces, including VLEs and so can mean static web pages can be kept up to date simply by updating your blog.
