Part of Google’s Drive, an online Office-like group of applications, Google Documents is the text processing one, a bit like Microsoft Word.

So for anything that you might find Word useful for, think Google Documents. Everything gets filed away neatly in whatever folders and in whatever categorisation you like. Documents will be stored in Google’s own format or, as in the case of those with a blue W icon in the illustration, they may retain all their Word properties and be sent to others as files with the familiar .doc or .docx suffix.
